Elaine has 18 years experience of working in the NHS and private practice treating a variety of psychological conditions with cognitive behavioural therapy. She specialises in the psychological treatment of chronic health conditions, including chronic pain, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. She also has experience in medico-legal work with clients referred via their solicitors or insurance companies. Elaine now works full-time at The Rooms.

Judy has over 20 years experience of working in the NHS and private practice. She offers brief focussed or longer-term psychodynamic psychotherapy for a variety of psychological / interpersonal difficulties. She works with present day problems and/or issues that have arisen from early trauma. She works with individuals, groups and couples. Judy has considerable experience working alongside the legal profession with adults involved in child protection cases and relationship disputes. She has a particular interest in working with issues of gender and/or sexuality. Judy now works full-time at The Rooms.

Tony is a senior lecturer (Counselling Psychology) at the University of Chester. He has over 20 years clinical experience both within education and the NHS, using cognitive behavioural, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy) and counselling approaches. He specialises in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. He undertakes assessment and treatment for medico-legal purposes.

Hannah is currenty employed on a full time basis within the NHS but works privately on a sessional basis, completing both the assessments and treatment of a range of psychological conditions.

Dr Rees is an honorary lecturer in Clinical Psychology. He has been carrying out medico-legal assessments of individuals involved in accidents and allegations of clinical negligence for more than 20 years. He is listed in the British Psychological Society’s directory as an Expert Witness and as an Expert Witness on the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers database. His principal clinical interests are the assessment and treatment of specific anxieties and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Dr Robson has over 20 years experience in the NHS and over 10 years experience of medico-legal work. She offers neuro-psychological assessment (including assessment of mental capacity) and rehabilitation (eg how best to deal with memory problems). She specialises in neuro-psychological assessment and rehabilitation following brain injury due to trauma.or illness.

Sam has 6 years experience of working in the mental health field both in the NHS and Social Services. Whilst able to work with a broad spectrum of interpersonal and emotional difficulties he specialises in working with issues of self-esteem and personal development.


Rowan Newby - Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and EMDR Practitioner.

Rowan has over five years experience of working as a CBT practitioner, both in private practice and the NHS. She is fully trained as an EMDR practitioner, a therapy recommended by the NICE guidelines for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. This can also be helpful when difficult memories are contributing to current difficulties. Rowan is also trained in stress management and yoga teaching. She is experienced in working with a wide range of anxiety and depressive problems, self esteem issues and work stress. She regularly carries out medico-legal work.

Dr Harris has 16 years experience of working with children and families in the NHS and in private practice. She offers assessment and therapy for a wide range of emotional and behavioural problems in children from birth to college age. She carries out medico-legal assessments and treatment of children and families who have symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Her clinical interests include; constipation and soiling, selective eating, anxiety, pain, and emotional and behavioural difficulties associated with physical health problems. She also offers training and consultation to other professionals in health, education and social services.
